Kyrgyzstan trekking: Tour 7

There is the second largest mountain lake in the world Issyk-Kul on the way the coastline of which stretches for the length of 180 km. You will have an opportunity to experience the nomadic life far away from the hectic of busy and stuffy cities. 


Day 1: Bishkek - Chon Kemin valley

You are brought to Bishkek city, the capital of Kyrgyzstan right after you land to the country. From the International Airport of Manas it will take you 30 minutes arrive in the city. The day starts with a breakfast. The rest of the day is dedicated to a guided Bishkek City Tour, including lunch. The tour includes the visiting of the central Ala-Too Square, Duboviy Park (Oak Park), Pobeda Square (Victory Square built in honor of the deceased in the Great Patriotic War 1941-1945), the History Museum, National philharmonic, Oriental Bazaar, Art Gallery and many others places of interest. Then you will be transfered to the Chon Kemin valley in the Kalmak-Ashuu Guesthouse, where you spend the night. On the way, we will visit the Burana Tower (minaret of the 11 century) and its attached open air museum of Balbals (stone warriors used as grave stones). Dinner is at 7 pm.

Day 2: Chon Kemin valley - Tamga
Breakfast is at 7 o'clock. Afterwards, you will start your trip to Tamga (380 km) by car. That will take us 6 hours. We will go along the southern shore of the celestial Issyk-Kul Lake, which is second largest mountain lake in the world (1608m.above sea level) the coastline of which stretches for the length of 180 km.. The Lake is also famous as "the pearl of Central Asia". Dinner is given in the Tamga Guesthouse, where the overnight stay is previewed.

Day 3: Tamga - Jukku gorge - pass Jukku
After a good breakfast we leave the Guesthouse at 8 o'clock by car that will take us to the entrance of the gorge Jukka. From there we will hike through the gorge until we arrive at the foot of the pass Jukka. You will have to take lunch on the way. Jukku is a place of Kyrgyz nomadic shepherds. You will meet real nomads who still live in yurts and try a bit of  national drink called Kumis (alcohol mare's milk) that is useful for health. Your dinner is in the open air. And the night is to be spent in tents in a wild nature.

Day 4: Pass Jukku - Ak-Shirak
The day begins with breakfast at 8 o'clock. And lunch is after we overcome the pass Jukku . Then we will keep on with our hiking along the Great Silk Road inside the Ak Shirak mountain range (average level makes up 3680m above sea). This hike will take us 7 hours. Ak-Shirak is known for its mountain Chokoli lakes. They all find their origin in glaciers. There is a wonderful view over these lakes. After your dinner you will spend the night in yurts nearby these lakes.

Days 5-7: Syrty Ak-Shirak
Syrty Ak-Shirak(3000m above sea level) - From Ak Shirak, it will take us 3 days long hiking along the southern side of the Terskey Ala-Too Mountains to get the foot of glacier Ashu-Tor. (3600-4200m).During this unbelievable trip you will also see our beautiful Ara-Belsu Lake. Ak-Shirak is the place where ancient traders hid from the attacks of robberies. It seems that good spirits protect you there. All nights are spent in traditional nomadic collapsible dwellings - yurts which are made of felt and wooden frame without a single nail.

Day 8: Gorge Ashu-Tor
After a strengthening breakfast you will overcome the pass Ashu-Tor (4000m.) At this place you will have a look at the Ashu-Tor glacier, as we will stop for a picnic. Then you will come closer to the Ara-Belsu Lake before going down to Ashu-Tor gorge by passing through the stunning Northern Ashu-Tor valley (3250m). This is also a 7 hours hike. After your dinner you will spend the night in tents.

Day 9: Gorge Ashu-Tor - Gorge Chon-Kyzyl-Suu
Once your backpacks get ready, you will be served breakfast at 8 o'clock before you start your 7 hours hike down to the Chon Kyzyl Suu valley and the old geophysics station (2650m). Lunch break is organized on the way. And dinner is served at 8 p.m. You will spend the night in yurts just like as nomads do. A yurta is made of felt and wooden frame without a single nail. It is a unique and collapsible dwelling of nomads. For pros it takes only one to erect and to collapse, respectively.

Day 10: Gorge Chon-Kyzyl-Suu - Bishkek
Breakfast is at 8 o'clock. In the morning, you are given 1 hour time to take bath in the hot water springs of Jeli Suu. After having lunch you will be transferred to Bishkek (350km) by car along the southern shore of celestial Issyk Kul Lake (1600m.ab.s.l.) via the wonderful Boom gorge. You will arrive in Bishkek at a Hotel **** at around 7 pm, where you will have time for yourself until you are picked up at 8 pm. You will have a farewell dinner in a restaurant with a performance of national folklore artists in the capital of Kyrgyzstan.

Day 11: Return Journey
Your guide meets you at your Hotel at the pick up time arranged previously according to your flight details and escort you to Manas International Airport.
