San-Tash pass (2195 m). Flat subtle drop between Kungei and Terskei, followed by the east lie Kegen Tekesskaya and depression. After Santash road goes from the Issyk-Kul in the Alma-Ata.
On the pass there is a hill of San-Tash (Turkic "Consider a stone"). Legend has it that they were composed of the army of Timur. When the commander went to the march, he ordered each soldier to take a stone, and here, at the pass, they lay all the stones in a large mound. Upon returning soldiers who survived were taken from the mound of stone and placed side by side. So at the pass, there are two of the mound of stones, one of which was a monument of the victims in a strange land.
 Pass through the San-Tash strong winds in the basin of the lake from the east. His name - "Santash" on behalf of the pass, from which it blows. Through Boom gorge wind blows from the west. Both wind caused when the mountains enclosing lake basin, the cold air accumulates. They cause a storm on Lake Issyk-Kul, but their influence spread normally only twenty - thirty kilometers from the coast.
