The minaret Burlinskogo settlement is one of the oldest buildings of this kind in the territory of Central Asia. Burana Tower is located 12 km southwest of  Tokmak, town in Kyrgyzstan on the road to the Kegety gorge of the Kyrgyz ridge, on the left bank of the Chu River.

Its construction dates back to the X-XI centuries. The original height of the tower was at least 40 m, but its upper part was thrown off by the earthquake. Today, the height is 21.7 meters. The Burana Minaret is part of the archaeological and architectural museum and is protected by the state as a first-class monument of cultural heritage. It was occupied by Genghis Khan in the 13th century, then was lost. In the 19th century Soviet explorers found on the territory of Kyrgyzstan.
